North Korea ideology of Media

The ideology of North Korea of Media.

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), commonly called North Korea , is a country in East Asia, in the northern half of the Korean Peninsula. Its capital is Pyongyang the country's largest city by both land area and population. It's a single party state and their currency is Won.Official language is Korean.
The main ideology of the media is to promote  and to carry out the instructions of the president, Kim  Sung and the General secretary Kim Jong Il. The ideology is to promote and defend party policy, the revolutionary work of the party and promote the superiority of the system to outside world. The section 67 of the North Korea’s socialist constitution stipulates that “all citizens enjoy freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of  assembley , freedom of  demonstration and freedom of association”. But guaranteeing freedom of speech on the surface, but the reason  of the media in that country is that they must help spur public more forcefully into socialist construction

They have to carry the instructions of the president Kim II Sung and the General secretary Kim Jong il and take a lead in the push towards ideological reunification. In his hand written letter to the media in November 1995 General secretary Kim Jong il urged the media to take a lead in consolidating the through reinforcing its function of providing ideological education, controlling and monitoring the public. The then chief editor  once urged the citizens to put their fate and future in the hands of their leader Kim Jong Il with complete trust,he made the comments  in a government newspaper Rodon Sinmun.

The media measure the news value  of an event based on how effective, it would be in enhancing the status of the president and the general secretary as objects of worship. The media have to mobilize the public for various drives and educate them ideologically. The types of news that are unrelated to or even interfere with ,the ideological education of the public, aimed at consolidating the political system or carrying out revolutionary tasks end up being not reported at all.

This means news that might reveal the negative aspects of North Korean society such as news of crime, an accident , an incident or news of general nature such as tourism, social events or the results of an opinion poll. Furthermore based on the positive reinforcement method of the theory of human construction. They choose stories of a model revolutionary worker, that can appeal to the emotional side of the public over critical stories. In Korea DPR broadcasting is considered a strong weapon that arms the public with one party ideology and organizes , mobilizes the public for achieving revolutionary exploits.

“Therefore broadcasting is required to play the role of an ideological educator that educates and turns all members of the society into communist revolutionaries”. Korea DPR  broadcasting service is run as a dual system . The day to day business such as facility and equipment management and general administration, is the responsibility of the  DPRK radio and TV broadcasting committee and ministry of Posts& Telecommunications. While overall  programing is under the direct  supervision of the party’s propaganda and agitation departm

The critical ideology

The critical ideology its when a small  group of people are able to dominate large masses of people and hold on to power without using force and the majority of subordinated people accept their subordination. Karl Max came to the conclusion that those in power were able to construct and communicate a dominant vision of society that justified their rule and the subordination of other and have such a vision accepted by those that were dominated. Such image of society is accepted by the majority of the people as legitimate. The power of the ruling minority becomes secure and use of force is unnecessary.

In terms of North Koreans the system of their government it is not bad ,Michel Faucalt in his discipline and publish suggest that society is not different from in the sense that both they are incarcerated confinement where normative power is at work. He almost precisely represent present North Korean society .  The   difference might be that prison inmates are aware of the isolation and punishment they are subjected to ,whereas North Koreans are not conscious of their seclusion. The long established positive ideological reform that the North Korea regime has been pushing since the end of the Korean war in 1950-1953 has in North Korean mass belief that they live in utopia or a state where evrything is perfect.

The people in North korea accepted that their dear leader is the one who can lead them greener pastures. They do not question  the supreme decisions from Kim because they believe that he is the only person who knows what is best for them and he is their   saviour. The Kim generation had been in power for many decades, they clouded North Koreans minds with  ideas that the Kim’s family were chosen. People see them as semi gods or god representatives on earth as everything revolves around them. Their dear leader Kim as they call him uses media to instil his ideologies to the masses, the media portrays him in a good way to make them forget about their hardships.

The way in which the media portrays him the masses have no problem with that since they do not question the decisions  from the supreme leader. There  are some pictures of Kim sitting with children which appeals to any parent around the capital city, but that does not mean he likes children of his country he would like to control them in future when they are grown-ups. There is

nothing bad that the media can report about him even a minor incident, if they can do that they would face a serious punishment  as that would be regarded as a sign of disrespect. The Koreans have accepted that everything is okay even if it is not because they are being told of self reliance. People of North Korea have accepted that there is no one who can run their country beside the Kim’s generation  on the basis of its long struggle against imperialism. They regard the  policies and ideologies they implement as true and legitimate. It there are some outsiders criticising their government they become annoyed. The mass media is owned by the state are obliged to report a false information about the situation in the country in order to dominate groups. People in the north end up having false information that they are living an utopia.

The sweet revenge for Amakhosi

By: Wilson Mmako

Yesterday in Polokwane, Peter Mokaba Stadium fans came in numbers between Chiefs and Platinum stars.
The Naturena boys made a dramatic come back winning 1-0 against the Dikwena,in an ABSA premier league. Amakhosi started like a house in fire attacking Dikwena from the first whistle, with Bernad parker sending a thunderous shot but denied by the cross bar.Amakhosi kept on pushing from their right and left wings, they squandered many chances with Lehlogonolo Majoro missing a free header.
Dikwena was under pressure as they failed to unsettle their opponents for the entire first half. Joseph Malongoane nearly scored.they were caught off guard by chiefs when Lucky Baloyi headed home a nice from corner kick at additional time of the first half.
In the second half the sparks were lacking which allowed the stars to come back to the game, possession wise only, stars midfielder Thabo Malongoane almost punished Amakhosi with a well taken free kick.It was one of those for stars  supporters who were  frustrated not knowing who to blame for the poor perfomance. The win will give Naturena boys a boast ahead of their premiership clash with Maritzburg on Tuesday at 19h30 at Nelson Mandela bay stadium.

THE SON OF AFRICA GREATEST MAN, KHAMIS GADDAFI

Khamis al-Gaddafi 27 May 1983 is the seventh and youngest son of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, and the military commander in charge of the Khamis Brigade which was regarded as one of the well trained and armed divisions of Libyan Army. He is part of his father's inner circle.
Childhood experiences
At the age of three, Khamis Gaddafi was injured in the 15 April 1986 United States bombing of Libya, suffering head injuries when the Bab al-Azizia military compound was attacked in retaliation for the 1986 Berlin discotheque bombing.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

He graduated from the military academy in Tripoli, receiving a bachelor’s degree in military arts and science, further graduating from the Frunze Military Academy in Moscow and the Academy of the General Staff Academy of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
In April 2010, he began a masters degree at the IE Business School formerly known as Instituto de Empresa, in Madrid. However, he was expelled by the institution in March 2011 for "his links to the attacks against the Libyan population".
In early 2011, Gaddafi worked as an intern at AECOM Technology Corporation. According to Paul Gennaro, AECOM's Senior Vice President for Global Communications, Gaddafi was touring the United States in February 2011 as part of his internship, including visiting military sites and landmarks. This trip was cut short on 17 February after the Libyan uprising began, and Gaddafi returned to Libya. U.S. government officials later denied any role in planning, advising or paying for the trip.
The rebels claimed to have killed him several times but that seemed to be untrue and up to this day no one knows where he is?

THE MTN8 THE TREASURE OF SA SOCCER

The stage was set and it was up to players to showcase their talent, with FNB Stadium almost packed to full capacity the two Soweto giants did live up to the fans expectations. Those who were saying the derby has lost its spark are wrong after what I’ve seen on Sartuday.
Amakhosi started like a house on firewith playeres like Reneilwe Letsholonyane and middle field king pin Tinashe “washington” Nengomasha tormenting Pirates donones, Oupa manyisa and Andile Jali. they were making brilliant passes towards Bucs  goal posts in the first fifteen  minutes of the game  but again failed to unsettle Moeneeb Joseph as they were firing blanks. The Pirates duo of Manyisa and Jali never gave up they had resilience mentality while Zebra was galloping all over the field, the first half failed to produce results for both teams.
While pirates was under pressure,Segolela managed to take a shot at thirty three minutes but it was not even dangerous to Khune, that kind of shot was necessary for Morne steyn and crew in Newzealand. After second half Bucs came up blazing, with BONGANI Ndulula as a substitute for Ndumiso Mabena who looked harmless through the game. Ndulula did live up to his big nick name of “Drogba” scoring a goal at first minute of additional time.
He was denied an opportunity to celebrate his goal as refree claimed that he pushed Erwin Isaacs, that did not deter the defending champions to push forward for another goal in the extra time.It was none other than the giant killer Manyisa who volleyed home a solitary goal which made the Bucs family happy people again on the day. The buccaneers finished the game on a high note, also their coach Jairo Leal was over the moon than his rival Vladimir Vermozovic who was sad for losing again. The chairman of the Pirates must have been happy after his boys started where they left  last season with their collection of treasures .the question is will the ghost they take another cups this season?.

WESTERN POWERS BOMBARD LIBYA

Western powers had overstepped their line of protecting civilians in Libya. The imperialists are busy bombing Tripoli day and night in support of the rebels in Benghazi. These countries Britain,USA and France are believing that peace can be brought by force, not knowing that when they apply the force they will be reaction from people in the continent and around the world. These countries under NATO mission have gone too far beyond the resolution act of 1973.They imposed no fly zone which was successful but they are now bombing Tripoli.

In the beginning they said they were not targeting Gaddafi but there were recent explosions weeks back that killed, one of his sons and three grandchildren in their home. The sitiuation is bad but western powers make it worse and African Union is not barking enough to find a speedy solution, concerning one of its long time members.Libya helped many governments in the continent in a fight agaist colonialism and also paid for membership of other African countries which did not have money to pay in AU. If AU is unable to act quickly some Africans will percieve it as "African cowardice Union".They should not fear to stand agaist these rich and arrogant countries. It has been three months rebels and forces loyal to gaddafi fighting but its never to late for AU to act,Libya should not be forsaken. African leaders should not be myopic to act agaist the transgression of the west in the continent.
